You are invited to…….. A Teddy Bears` Picnic in Queens Park @ Queens Park
11:00 am – 2:00 pm

As part of The Caterham Festival, Play Safely are hosting a Teddy Bears’ Picnic in Queens Park in Caterham.

We welcome friends of all ages to come along between 11am and 2pm on Saturday 16th June to enjoy the playground and share a picnic with your favourite Teddy. After you’ve enjoyed your picnic we hope our younger visitors will take part in the Obstacle Course while the older children tackle our Treasure Hunt!

Entrance is completely free and there will be a prize for every child taking part.  There will also be refreshments served from the Pavilion.

We hope that you will also have time to visit the playground and see (or play on!) our brand new climbing frame, generously provided by Tandridge District Council, which should be installed around mid May.  Also, come and have a play on our ‘monster logs’ which are situated just outside the playground fence in our wild orchard.  Over the next few months we hope to develop this natural play area and commission some signage which will identify the names and use of trees surrounding the playground.

Any queries, please call Rosie on 01883 341767 or Claire on 01883 342292.

Beating the Bounds Walk @ start at St Mary's Church,
11:00 am – 12:00 pm
BEATING THE BOUNDS

Caterham on the Hill Parish Council’s Circular Walk will take place on Saturday 25th May at 11.30am. The walk is  approximately 6 miles long and where possible follows the boundary of Caterham on the Hill Parish.“Beating the Bounds” is an ancient, and once widespread custom. A group procession walked around the ‘Bounds’ of a common, carrying sticks or ‘wands’ to hit landmarks along the way. This was believed to pass knowledge of the land onto the next generation. The walk will start at St Mary’s church car park at 11.30am. There will be a break for refreshments after 3 miles, near Coulsdon Common (The Fox), where people who can only do 3 miles can leave or join. The second part of the walk will leave from the Fox at 1.30pm (meeting at the front entrance) and return to St Mary’s Church for approximately 3pm.

Please bring a packed lunch.  Email: caterhamhillpc@msn.com if you would like more details.
